Ogilvie, Minnesota
Artisan loaves, buttery pastries, and a thoughtfully stocked pantry on Minnesota Highway 23.
About Jitter's
We opened Jitter's because we wanted bread that tastes like bread — crusty, open-crumbed, sour, and made from flour that's actually ground. Not from a mix. Not from a freezer. From a starter that's been fed and tended for years.
Our ovens fire every morning at dawn. By the time you walk in off MN-23, the loaves are already cooling and the pastries are laid out. We also keep a small grocery section — olive oil, sea salt, honey, spices, and pantry items we'd actually use at our own table.
— Ogilvie, since day one
What We Offer
Sourdough, country loaves, ciabatta, and seasonal variants — all leavened naturally, baked in batch, never frozen.
Croissants, danishes, tarts, and seasonal fruit galettes — made from scratch each morning with real butter.
Small-batch olive oil, local honey, sea salt, specialty flours, and other staples we'd keep in our own kitchen.
Our Philosophy
Long fermentation develops flavor that shortcuts can't replicate. We wait. Our dough rises slowly, naturally, without rushing to meet an arbitrary schedule.
Flour milled close to home. Butter with a high fat content. Salt that isn't just sodium. If we wouldn't serve it at our own table, it doesn't go on our shelf.
We're on Highway 23 because that's where we are — not because we're trying to be somewhere else. Come by for a loaf, stay for the conversation.
